Up at the crack of 8:00.
Broke camp.
West to Nashville passing the biggest church I've ever seen. On up through Hopkinsville, KY to Evansviile where Sally and I lived from 1970 to 1979 and where Timothy and Sarah were born. The first place we lived has been torn down for a fraternity row. The second place was there but denuded of trees. I couldn't find the last place. (The ravavges of time!) Our old rugby field is now a skating rink and its parking lot. The place has changed some in 30 years.
On to St. Louis where our GPS system finally earned its stripes. Hit a construction delay which seemed interminable until the device found a very handy detour and we swept right by. Once it got us to St. Louis it took us straight to Sarah's door!
My first visit to Sarah and Steph's house (Annie's third). Sarah and Annie prepared a delectible salad served with bread and cheese. I went to bed around 11:00 while Sarah and Annie went on a jeep ride with a friend of Sarah's.
Clouds covering the top of mountain west of Frozen Head.
The double spire goes with the church.
Where we lived when Sarah was born.
2 Comments:
Sounds good, so far, you intrepid travelers. Are you sharing the driving? Looking forward to seeing you in Sonoma soon! How soon?
hugs,
Caryn
Hey, Caryn,
