Shared a lovely breakfast with Mary and two other families. Headed northeast along SR 61 towards Canada. Had to show to the Canadian customs clerk a letter from Kathryn verifying that I was not abducting Annie. (Had been warned to have the letter)Found Thunder Bay to be less than the name might suggest. Came accross the old train station re-configured as a tourist draw.
Had a nice marina, two restaurants, a gallery, children's museum and a model railroad display. We lunched at the Authentique Cafe before continuing up
Ont 61 to The Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. Our first night in Canada was quite cool. Friends Of The Park was conducting a weekend fundraiser festival. We went to the amphitheater at 8:00 PM for the awarding of prizes for the afternoon's events and a skit called History Hunks, in which park employees acted out various local
historical figures (for laughs) and the kids in the audience got to vote for their favorite.
